Historical Background

The vision of serving to the society to give it selflessly back something that they have got, made the Director's & the respected members of Shikhar Educational Society, Raipur C.G., establishing a Health care system in the form of “School of Nursing”-Kalindi Institute of Nursing Sciences, Kanker and Kalindi Academy of Nursing Science, Mahasamund.

The School of Nursing Kanker was started in July 2010 and Mahasamund was started in July 2011. The school grew under auspices of the C.G. Nurses. Registration council, Raipur and is recognized by the “Indian Nursing Council” (INC) New Delhi. The curriculum is of three and half year Diploma Programme for registered Nurse midwife (G.N.M.)

Purpose of The Course :
The main purpose of G.N.M. course is to provide graduate educational programmes in nursing course providing responsibility in primary, secondary and tertiary care of people as professional Nurse. The essential elements of Nursing practice are those that are related to maintain and restore normal life functions of the sick, assessing patients in restoring physical and emotional states and helping environmental factors formulating and implemental plans for the provision to Nursing care based on scientific principles.

In providing these services we aim that a nurse functions effectively as an important member of the health team. It is expected that graduates are capable of teaching and supervising appropriate Nursing and Health care in different settings and showing active participation in administration of Nursing services and education in the society.
